Bookings now open for the Cape Men's Yoga summer yoga and meditation retreat 9 - 12 January 2014

Get naked out in the country with the right group of men....

09 - 12 JANUARY 2014

Dear Yogis,

We are ready to take deposits and booking for the Summer 2014 Cape Men's Yoga Retreat. This year's retreat will be 24 hours longer than previous retreat - based on popular demand. This means you have the OPTION of 4 full days and 3 nights retreat OR 3 days and 2 nights. Coming a bit earlier allows you to settle in, start with your meditation and yoga and it means that the transformations you'll experience will likely run deeper than the shorter option. Nonetheless, if you can't get the Thursday off work, you can still come through on the Friday afternoon.

The retreat involves a flexible programme of diverse yoga styles and guided meditation. We will be offering ashtanga, vinyasa, hatha, yin and kundalini classes. All of the yoga classes are given nude.

We also offer guided meditations, both indoors and outdoors. There is usually also some teaching of yoga philosophy, an experiential  learning theme for the weekend, some chanting and massage.

You do need previous yoga experience for the weekend retreat. From previous experience, people without yoga backgrounds struggle with the intensity of the practices - usually 3 sessions a day. At the same time, everything is optional, so you do as much as feels right for you.

This is full summer in the Cape. There is a beautiful dam for swimming. It is not a nudist centre. Nudity is only in the yoga hall and when swimming. We are booking the Bodhi Khaya venue out exclusively for our use but there are staff around and sometimes visitors drop by the retreat centre. The venue is between Stanford and Gansbaai in the Overberg.

Pricing involves a core fee for the venue exclusive use, plus a sliding scale of room rentals. The venue is pleasant and all sheets and towels are provided. It is a spiritual retreat centre. There will be fully catered vegetarian cuisine, three excellent meals a day. We are getting quotations on the catering but this is likely to be R200 per person per day. We will confirm that.

The retreat bookings require an initial deposit of R 600 is due to secure your place. You need to indicate if you are coming for the 2 nights or the 3 nights. Please also indicate your room preferences. It is first come, first serve. All prices include the room option AND the venue cost. The catering is NOT YET included here.

Dormitory: @ R660 pp sharing for 3 nights
                  @ R640 pp sharing for 2 nights

Double rooms in the quad area:
                 @ R1100 pp sharing for 3 nights;
                 @ R 800 pp sharing for 2 nights;
                 @ R 2000 single occupancy for 3 nights;
                 @ R 1400 single occupancy for 2 nights;

Cottages on the hill have the options of 2 persons, 4 persons or 6 persons. You have to pay the full rental amount for a cottage regardless of the number of people you have. Please ask me about the specific pricing for the three cottages on the hill.

Email us for the deposit information (same as previously) on capemensyoga AT gmail. com

DEPOSITS ARE DUE BY 22 NOVEMBER. Please also send an email confirmation with the electronic payments.

Deductions are made for yoga instructors contributing to the teaching. Also, each year, we invite participants to add some money to the pot to help subsidise unemployed or underemployed members to be able to join us. This is optional. If you know someone who wants to attend but cannot likely afford it, please contact me.

Longer stays are possible as well. You could make it a full week retreat if you wish, in which case you will pay the extra days directly to Bodhi Khaya.

Lastly, as most of you know, this is a not for profit venture to help build a spiritual and practitioner community. This is a great opportunity to develop your yoga, your meditation, to make new friendships, to know yourself better, and to process things that you may wish to process.

Welcome and Namaste
