Cape Men's Yoga & Meditation - the Mysore Hatha sequence

Cape Men's Yoga continues to grow and flourish. We are so happy to have created this space for men in Cape Town. We had our first yoga guest from Guatemala today, who generously gave us some feedback identifying our class as one of the best international yoga experiences he has had. Every class is unique and we aim to create a really diverse experience with different styles of yoga and meditation for you. Underpinning this is a combination of a strong culture of brotherly support for one another, non-judgmental approach, and a sincere approach to working with the body and mind.

This week, Duncan takes over for another Mysore hatha class. Hatha is often considered the foundation of modern and ancient yoga. It is a series of yoga postures aimed at opening the mind and body, which achieving harmony of intention and action. The training comes from a famous school in Mysore which includes the use of mantras, meditation and devotional practice to combine with injury free yoga.

To join the class, email us on capemensyoga AT gmail.com or contact Duncan on 084 294 8309.

 Namaste

We note also this week the passing of a titan in the yoga world. One of the father's of modern yoga has left his physical body at the age of 95. Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar, a student of Krishnamacharya, who founded an entire new lineage of Iyengar Hatha yoga touched the lives of millions of people around the planet. We honour his teachings, his generosity and his humility. May we treat all of our teachers with deep respect, including our own inner teacher.

We preformed a simple meditation from venerable Thich Nhat Hanh: breathing in I say yes; breathing out I say thank you.
