2016 starts with a naked men's yin yoga class - Sunday 3 January 2016
Dear Yoga brothers,
Warm wishes of the New Year to you all. I hope that you were able to say goodbye to 2015 with peace in your hearts and embrace the start of 2016 with all of its wonders, challenges, opportunities and blessings.
We will kick off 2016 with a yin yoga class on Sunday 3 January 2016 at 10.00 until 12 noon. This is at our regular venue. There is indoor parking if you enter from Buitengracht, ask for details. That is the first floor parking take the lift to the 3rd floor. Your donations are very much appreciated.
Yin is a Daoist style of yoga, very slow, positions are held for five minutes each. It is not muscular but meditative and introspective. A great way to enter peacefully into the new year.
We are expecting some changes in 2016.
We may be shifting the venue of our Sunday yoga. We are looking at various options. Currently we are still at our city centre venue until further notice. We'll put up notification on the Facebook page and the blog. We advise you to check the venue before attending to make sure you are not wandering around naked in central Cape Town for no good reason.
If you know of a good venue, a spacious hall that we can rent or use, which is private enough not to be disturbed by casual people wandering in, please advise Duncan or myself. We are aiming to keep a weekend practice.
During January, we'll have a full offering of hatha, vinyasa, yin and other yoga. There will be no class on Sunday 31 January 2016 as things stand currently. If this changes we'll do a posting.
28 - 31 January 2016 is the 8th Cape Men's Yoga rural retreat weekend - the Dance of Life retreat. The programme has been prepared, deposits paid, rooms allocated. If you are attending the retreat, please make sure you payments are completed by 12 January. We also highly recommend that retreatants increase their regular yoga and meditation practice in advance of the weekend. It will help you with stamina and focus.
The Winter retreat will be at the new venue - http://www.hearthandsoul.co. za/eco-farm/ Mark your diaries now: 12-14 August 2016.
We are quietly so touched by all the positive feedback from the members, the kind words of support, the stories of personal transformation and growth, not to mention watching you be able to grasp parts of your mind or anatomy which were not previously available. As we are taught in Kahuna philosophy - where attention goes, energy flows - so let 2016 be a year of energy flowing to your well-being and your wholesome connection to others and to life.
Namaste,
Nigel
