Cape Men's Yoga & Meditation Practice over the Easter Weekend - 5 April 2015

Easter Practice 2015

We had a great outdoor meditation last week. Our class focussed on yoga built around the second chakra - the svadisthana chakra of the pelvic area. The element is water. We explored how water meditations and pelvic / sacral yoga can help us let go of perceived problems, get the flow back in our lives, as well as get into some technical work with the sacrum and lower back that can be quite beneficial.

We are having an Easter Weekend practice. After whatever fun, relaxation, chocolate or whatever is entertaining you, come and join us on the mat on Sunday morning at 10 am for another nude male yoga session.

We'll likely be working with other chakra-based practice next week. Chakras are a yogic energy theory - spinning disks of energy are in a chain along the body - they are considered to be areas of focus of our character, how we are manifested in ,life, ranging from our material birth, through our temperament, character, creativity, enthusiasm, ability to love and trust, all the way up to our sacred connection and expression, our ability to connect with the higher energy of the universe.

Whether you take that literally or not, the chakras are a way to understand our moods, our balance in life, understanding where we may be feeling and holding stress, and how to clean our energy and minds so we feel refreshed and happy again.

Yoga - meaning 'to unite' - is a way in which we find integration, balance, harmony. That may mean understanding our inner wiring, how our body works, how the mind and body interact to shape our moods and well-being. Or it can be seen spiritually - becoming one with the universe, with 'God', with the meaning behind the surface of the universe. Whatever it is for you - come explore together with the guys at Cape Men's Yoga.

We meet from 10 am until noon every Sunday in the Cape Town city centre. Beginners are welcome. It is a fully nude practice - a practice to get back in touch with the body. It is sometimes challenging, that is part of the fun. We promote a holistic practice of meditation, yogic breathing, yoga asana (postures) and living a life of well-being.

We have four or five internationally certified teachers. We teach for the love of it. The teachers donate their time. The practice is voluntary - pay what you can.
