Cape Men's Yoga - Our March 2015 schedule

Yoga brothers,

This month we'll be offering nude men's yoga and meditation classes most Sundays at our regular venue in central Cape Town. There are however some specific variations to note.

08 March 2015 - class is at 10.00 until noon as per usual, but it is the Cape Argus Cycle Race and hence you need to check road closures and adjust both your route and your timing accordingly.

Please check http://www.cycletour.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Appendic-9-2_Road-Closures_Table_2015_-2-December-2014.pdf
for road closures.

15 March 2015 - This is a regular class at the regular time. Please make sure you are at class before 10 am which is when we lock the door.

22 March 2015 - NO CLASS THIS WEEKEND. This is the SpiritFest yoga weekend out in Paarl. http://www.spiritfest.co.za/ Many of the guys will be out doing a full weekend of yoga. Come a and join us, just remember your shorts.

29 March 2015 - We are looking at doing a special class that will start at 9am and finish by 11am. This would be outdoors on the spectacularly located terrace on the 3rd floor of our regular venue. The idea is to do a swimsuit yoga. Bring a shy friend along and work up a sweat under the shadow of Table Mountain and Signal Hill with a view of Table Bay harbour. You know, Cape Town is one of the top global cities of the planet, so why not celebrate that?!

Cape Men's Yoga is a voluntary community yoga and meditation group. It is organised by qualified yoga instructors and is put together as a nude male practice to encourage men of all walks of life to understand their body - mind - spiritual relationship. We try to get back to the very heart of the yoga practice - the eight limbs of yoga - an ethical, mindful practice working with body, mind, lifestyle and breath-work in a supportive and respectful community context. Class are free with donations invited for the venue costs.

You need a sweat towel, ideally your own mat (extra mats for drop ins) and heart willing to learn and explore who you are in the world.

This past Sunday we talked about three of the Yamas. Yama is one limb of yoga - it is the limb of managing the self, reigning in unwholesome conduct and growing a wholesome approach to your life. We spoke of three principles and practices: Sacca (Truth), Ahimsa (Do no harm to ourselves or others) and Brahmacariya (Sexual wisdom and living the sacred in our sexual, intimate and personal relationships). Each of these arise from a state of mindfulness, of self-exploration and fundamentally a pledge to ourselves to make the right effort to live well in the world.
