Outdoor meditation before yoga this Sunday 29 March 2015

Dear yogis,

This Sunday we are putting together a special event. As the first part of our practice we are doing an outdoor meditation on the new lawns of the wonderful venue we are using. It is a type of urban park with walk ways, fountains and now lush green lawns fed by recycled water off the building. Yeah to ecological greening of our buildings in Cape Town!

For this event, we cannot do a naked meditation outdoors do to the sensitivity of the neighbours. You are on the third floor but there is a hotel right across the street. This means bring a bathing suit, shorts or comfortable meditation trousers with you. We recommend you come earlier than usual to get settled. The terrace is in the shade at 10 am so no worries about sunburns for the paler yogis.

Note that you have the option of meditation IN the fountains. You may want to connect fully with the water element. It is a great feeling. Otherwise you can sit on a mat on the lawn. If you have a meditation cushion, bring it along. Otherwise come sit on a mat and yoga block.

The regular naked men's yoga practice will go ahead from 10.30 and we are looking forward to a bumper class with many of returning from the inspiring weekend in Paarl at Spirit Fest 2015.

We'll be doing a vinyasa flow class with hatha elements and few of the Iyengar movements we were exploring on the weekend.

There is a chance that one of our most senior teachers will share a bit of his yoga philosophy talk from last weekend. It was incredibly insightful.

As always, class is open to beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners. It is a fully nude practice, connecting mind and body together in movement and meditation. You are invited to bring your own mat. We have extra blocks and straps plus a few additional mats for guests.

It is a voluntary practice. Donations are welcome and particularly this week the donations will be going again to the institution that has been supporting us through the use of this great centre city venue.
