Summer of Love - Cape Men's Yoga summer retreat 2014

This is our first notification of CMY's summer retreat. Entitled the Summer of Love on 9 to 12 January 2014.

We will be about 20 guys spending four days out at the beautiful Bodhi Khaya retreat centre near Gansbaai in the Cape Overberg. Bodhi Khaya is our regular retreat destination. It is well set up with a large yoga shala, indoor and outdoor meditation spaces, a walking maze, two dams for hiking, comfortable accommodation and a rolling landscape of Cape fynbos for hiking.

The venue is rented for our exclusive use and fully catered with excellent vegetarian cuisine. The price is affordable with the option of sharing accommodation or even staying in a dorm. Single accommodation has to be booked early and involves a surcharge. Prices will be available on request.

This is our first four day retreat. The other summer and winter retreats have been so successful and popular we decided to give it an extra day to support your meditation practice.

We have a range of teachers, offering practices in vinyasa, ashtanga, hatha, kundalini and yin yoga styles. The yoga is interspersed with yoga philosophy teachings and meditation practices, as well as just getting outdoors and connecting with nature. We have also included other practices including chanting, chakra meditations, and lunar practices on the full moon.

Each retreat has its own thematic design. Previous events have included working with the 10 Perfections, the chakras, the natural elements, and processes of change and transformation. The practice is based on classic yogic teachings and values. All spiritual and religious traditions, including atheistic wellness practices are equally respected. We have Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Moslem and spiritualist members.

BK is not a nudist centre. It is a spiritual retreat centre that welcomes different traditions and denominations. They have been supportive of our practice. The nude yoga takes place in the spacious yoga hall. Participants need to bring their own yoga mats.

Deposits are due two months before the event and full payment the week prior. This event is not designed for total beginners. The practice would likely be too physically challenging. Those relatively new to yoga are encouraged to build up their practice in the months prior to the retreat. Once at the retreat, you are free to partake in as many or as few practices as appropriate for you. It is an opportunity to deepen both your yogic and meditative practices.
