Cape Men's Yoga & Meditation - Sunday 30 October We are going to have a yoga flow class this Sunday, 30 October. Nigel is going to try to draw together some of the principles and lessons of his visit to Hawai'i and the training by Gavin in Kahuna massage and turn this into a yoga practice. Hawaiian culture is very rich in spirituality, shamanism, body work and the connection between humans and nature. This revolves around the key concept of 'Aloha' - meaning love which guides our thinking, our actions, our relationships with each other and with the living world. Aloha is not just an open heart, it is a type of discipline to be generous, to be patient, to value yourself equally with other living beings. It is the art of good balance and insight.  Yoga similarly works with the mind, body, spiritual connection - finding how the study of our inner world helps us understand the greater universe.  Join us this week for a journey of the heart centre, inspired by th...

5th Anniversary - Cape Men's Yoga - 26 June 2016

Cape Men's Yoga is a community based, voluntary naked yoga practice. It was born from a visit to Nude York Yoga while visiting Manhattan. Frankly, the idea of doing yoga naked seemed ridiculously and distracting when I first heard about it. Indeed, it has been an ancient Indian tradition for millennia but in our modern context - would it not just come to focus on more desires, male-competitiveness and different types of external distractions? There is no expensive lycra, no ideal body type, no age limit - rather than creating a space of surface attention, stripping off all the clothes took away all of the surface - just leaving the vulnerable inner reality as the yoga space - as it was always meant to be. Guys with uneven pectorals, a few kilograms more than la...

#capemensyoga #nakedmaleyoga #nudeyoga Bhakti yoga class on Sunday 06 September 2015 Spring energy is with us. We have entered the final lunar cycle ahead of the Spring Equinox. Heavy rain has nourished the land and the mountains are roaring with waterfalls and heavy with the scent of Spring flowers and fynbos. Come and join us for a flowing session of Bhakti vinyasa yoga this Sunday. Bhakti is the tradition of devotion. This can be devotion to God, your spiritual path, or devotion to the living universe that has manifested you within it. Whatever you feel grateful for, learn from, honour and value - come and move your body and heart to express that. If you do not have a sense of spirituality, come and enjoy the workout, if you come with a specific spiritual tradition, get naked and be immersed in that joy of contemplative movement and meditation. Bring a yoga mat, sweat towel and a voluntary donation. Classes led by a qualified instructor. Make sure to get there befo...
